Exploring Earth Day in Italian Schools
On April 23, schools throughout Italy celebrated Earth Day, embracing a unique educational journey during the school year. Through action research workshops conducted with the support of teachers and experts, and Andriani Education, an extraordinary project emerged, named “Earth, I Care for You… I Protect the Plants.”
Objective: Connecting with the Plant World through Music
The main goal of this project is to introduce students to plants, harnessing the power of plant music. The aim is to foster appreciation, respect, and care for plants as an essential part of life on Earth.
Key Tool: Bamboo M – A Synergy of Technology and Learning
A crucial element of this educational journey was the use of the Bamboo M device, providing vital support for students to understand and perceive the pulsating vitality of plants. Teachers, through a dedicated training course led by a music teacher, fully explored this tool, gaining valuable insights.
Classroom Experiences: Engaging and Creative Approaches
Among the various classroom experiences, the activity led by teachers Dina Pozzato, Marina Sambo, and Tiziana Voltolina in the fifth grade at Ballarin Primary School in Valli di Chioggia, Chioggia 3 Comprehensive Institute, stood out. Students had the opportunity to listen to music produced by one of the plants cultivated in the school using Bamboo M sensors. Inspired by this adventure, they expressed their feelings and emotions through drawings and words.
