Snowdrop’s Medody

We have listened to our plants play music for the last 14 months.

Lone got the Music of The Plants CD produced at Damanhur as a birthday gift in August 2014. When we realized that the Music of the Plants was offered for sale, we bought one in January 2015, and started playing with potted plants in our home.

We soon discovered that the plants did not always play when we would like them to play, and that a plant playing at one time – later on the same day, didn’t play right away when we wanted to share with some friends.

In our house, Lone cares for the plants and has “spoken” with them daily for decades. When we for the first time we invited a small group of friends to listen to the plants, it happened that Lone had to leave the room for a telephone call in another room. The plant stopped playing when she left the room and started playing again at the moment she returned.

Often when playing for friends, we feel uplifted afterwards and the atmosphere of the room is felt as newly cleansed.

Using the software “Score Cloud” it has been possible to score the songs and play them with different instruments. It would be exiting to have human musicians play the music composed by plants.

Recently we bought a rechargeable battery available for our device, which has given us a new freedom to play with plants and trees in nature. Our first try was with a Snowdrop plant in our garden. See the video and enjoy!

Music of the Sacred Woods Temple of Damanhur

Reprinted from Damanhur Community Blog:

Zigola, a Damanhurian citizen and singer born in the Netherlands shares about an artistic co-creation with nature in the Sacred Woods Temple of Damanhur, dedicated to children.

I’m one of the fortunate people that live in the Sacred Woods of Damanhur, a woods with spirals and labyrinths for healing and inspiration, places dedicated to meditation, Sacred Dance and Music of the Plants. With a couple of the inhabitants of the woods, we have been rewriting one of the mythologies by Falco Tarassaco about the magical reality of this place.

We have also created a story for children to understand, with drawings of the woods for them to color and design with their own inspiration. We made an audio book with sounds and melodies of the forest. Later on, a CD will also be released with the full songs.

The making of these songs has been a very inspiring experience for me. Falco Tarassaco has left us indications about how to contact trees, using all of our senses. With the help of one of our befriended shamans of the Hopi Native Americans, I have learned how to hear the melodies of the trees by lying on the ground and just listening. With a couple of Damanhurian musicians and musician friends from Denmark, we have created songs based on these melodies and also melodies collected using the Music of the Plants device. It feels as if these melodies help us to get into contact and dialogue with the plant world and offer them a sign that we are listening and seeking collaboration.

The audiobook will be released next month in English and Italian (The Secrets of the Sacred Woods).

We’re looking forward to seeing and hearing your creations, Zigola! Thank you for being inspired by the magic of the woods.
